Introduction 1st post

Hi,  I've been painting for over 30 years now,  and it doesn't get any easier. Thats probably what keeps me coming back for more.  It just amazes me when I find that right color note that works together  that gives the painting the depth that I am looking for, wether its a  cobalt violet shadow against a white building or just a warm yellow gestural stroke to suggest a heeling sail boat.  Painting is  what I love to do. It's a lot of work but it's also a lot of fun doing it.  Sometime we struggle with feelings of failure but we know we have to stay with it and stroke by stroke a painting starts to emerge and we are happy.  Another evening of contentment, at least for the time being until the next painting session.

I am inspired by life — life is art, art is life — that plus the sublime beauty that is Nature along with the American Luminists such as Frederic Church, Fitz Hugh Lane and others.
I feel blessed that I can support my family solely by landscape painting. It’s been a passion of mine ever since I can remember. As artists, we live each day passionately. Our only hope is that we remain healthy so we can continue our craft.
As long as I am healthy, I will always keep trying to reach for that color note, and perhaps someday I will complete that visual symphony.  That's it for now
Please keep checking back,  Hopefully this will be the first of many
